The decision to have surgery can be stressful and difficult. Our goal is to make this process as efficient as possible.

Once you and your doctor decide to schedule surgery, the doctor will fill out a surgery request form. He gives the form to our surgery scheduler. The surgery scheduler then has several steps that are required, such as:

• Verifying insurance eligibility
• Verifying which hospital you are allowed to use based on your insurance carrier
• Obtain prior authorization for the surgery, if necessary

Our doctors have certain days assigned to them at the hospitals or surgery centers. Because of that, we have a limited range of dates to offer you for the surgery.

The surgery scheduler will contact you to go over the open dates and facilities. The pre-op appointment, the surgery, and the post-op appointment will be scheduled.

While we will attempt to accommodate your needs during this process, we encourage you to be sure of the date you choose. It is very time consuming for our office and the hospital or surgery center to reschedule surgeries. However, we know that emergencies and sickness happen, which would require us to reschedule the surgery.
