Krista Heidar, MD, specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and complex eye diseases in children. She completed medical school and her ophthalmology residency at Loma Linda University in California. She also completed a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and eye motility disorders at Oregon Health Science University in Portland, Oregon. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active participant in Maintenance of Certification. While she sees patients at our Albuquerque office, she is also on staff at UNM where she screens and treats premature infants for Retinopathy of Prematurity.
Dr. Heidar is married and has one daughter. She loves spending time with her family, hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors.

To keep everyone safe, we are proud that all our staff are fully vaccinated!
In an effort to keep you, our patients, and staff safe please be aware of the following policies:
Only patient (adult) will be permitted in for appointment. For minors, patient and one parent/guardian will be permitted in for appointment.
Masks are required for all people entering office. Masks should be worn properly over nose and mouth at all times, except for children 2 years and under.
Regardless of vaccination status any upcoming appointment should be postponed if patient or anyone living with patient has tested positive for COVID or had known exposure to a person with COVID in the past 14 days.
Please postpone your appointment if you have had the following symptoms in the last 14 days: fever/chills, cough, muscle/body aches, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea.
