Dr. Kenneth Goldblum first opened his solo practice in 1972 to provide comprehensive and personalized eye care for the residents of Albuquerque and surrounding communities. For the next 23 years, his practice grew by word-of-mouth. His patients liked the care they got and they told their friends and relatives.
In 1995, Dr. Ken Goldblum’s oldest son joined the practice. As a pediatric ophthalmologist, Dr. Todd Goldblum continued the tradition of providing personal, individualized care for children with eye problems. When he joined the practice it became Goldblum Family Eye Care Center and in 2008 we became Family Eye Care and Children’s Eye Center of New Mexico.
Our practice expanded again in the past two years, adding two more ophthalmologists, Dr. Rebecca Leenheer in 2012 and Dr. John Hickox in 2013. Dr. Leenheer and Dr. Hickox specialize in pediatric ophthalmology, and Dr. Hickox also sees and treats adults. In 2016, Dr. Ken Goldblum retired from practice after 44 years of helping New Mexicans see better.
Throughout our 40+ year history, our practice has grown by word-of-mouth and referrals from happy patients, including many families who have grown with the practice. We still see patients who started with us back in 1972 – and now we’re seeing their children and grandchildren! We take pride in treating our patients like family and we owe our continued success to our patients and their kind referrals.
